JoBeth Lawless is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC), working for the last 2.5 years in Urgent Care but having been in the healthcare industry for over 30 years. Her career includes mostly rural hospital nursing. Experiences have included Obstetrics, Surgery, Medical-Surgical, EMS, Emergency and serving as Chief Nursing Officer. She received her nursing degree from Mercy Health Sciences, in Des Moines and her Bachelor of Nursing from University of Iowa and her Master of Nursing from Graceland University in Lamoni, IA.
Her passion for nursing and helping people led her to pursue a goal of becoming a nurse practitioner and wanting to become more vested in the care and treatment of those she would serve in small communities. She can now support her patients by providing a partnership and shared decision making in their healthcare needs for their acute and long-term needs. When she is not taking care of patients, she can be found close to home in Melrose, Iowa on the farm with her husband John raising beef cattle, crops and Sheltie dogs. JoBeth were blessed with 3 children and beautiful grandkids. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends and so proud to be called “GranmaJo”. She will always take pride in being a part of the local volunteer fire department and first responders. Summers she enjoys the garden (making salsa) and spending time at the lake.
